BayernLabs are centres for digital knowledge creation. In the Labs you can learn about topics and trends relating to the ongoing digitalization process. At least one BayernLab will be established in each administrative district also with the aim to strengthen rural areas.
The network of BayernLabs in Bavaria (13 at the end of the project) will communicate the opportunities and risks of digitisation, particularly in rural regions.
„look – touch – try“ – BayernLabs offer a wide range of services for everyone, for example explaining digital transformation in a clear and practical way based on various „topic islands“, such as 3D printing, drone flights or virtual reality (VR).
With handouts and special events focusing on IT security, school classes in particular are sensitised to the potential dangers and risks of digitisation.
Furthermore, BayernLabs offer interesting and sustainable jobs (five per lab) for local people and contribute to strengthening rural regions.
Further regional synergy effects can be achieved, e.g. through cooperation with regional foundation centres.
