Georgia
© The Ray
The Ray, an 18-mile stretch of highway in west Georgia, boasts intelligent-like qualities for drivers, serving as a proving ground for emerging technologies in the areas of transportation, energy, and the environment. This corridor functions as a living laboratory for the active traffic management of interstate lanes and enables real-world testing of advanced mobility/modalities, such as platooning and autonomous driving.
A Public, Private, Philanthropic Partnership (P4) resulted in physical infrastructure along the road in LaGrange for machine vision systems and wayfinding. A cost-sharing partnership resulted in the connected, digital environment for vehicle-to-everything.
